My Sister Liv, a deeply felt documentary about the bond between two sisters – and the heartbreaking forces that change their lives forever – has continued its heralded festival run, being listed as one of the ten must-see films at DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival.
Critic Kate Erbland praised director Al Hicks’ sensitive, careful approach, describing the way that the film forefronts Liv, the central character of the documentary, and the impact her mental health struggles have on those around them. “It’s an intensely intimate story that should have an impact on anyone who sees it”.
